The Y Yuma waltzed into their contest Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Rangely 75-30 at home. That 75-30 margin sets a new team best for Y this season.
Y found their leader in underclassman Brody Sheffield, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The matchup was Sheffield's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cristian Duarte, who scored 12 points.
Rangely struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Y's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Rangely, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Y won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sterling at 5:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Sterling focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
