The Tahoma Bears will face off against the Auburn Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tahoma has eight straight victories, Auburn has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tahoma's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Kennedy Catholic 8-0. Considering the Bears have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Alexa Ramirez's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Kalani Higa was incredible, firing off two home runs and one double while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hammington, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Tahoma hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy Catholic struck out 12 times.
Meanwhile, Auburn fell victim to Kentwood and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Conquerors. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Auburn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Tahoma pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Tahoma took their win against Auburn when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-5 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
