Union extended the longest winning streak in 2A Region 5 this week by beating Sebastopol, 32-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Union led the league in scoring this week after putting up 32 points on the Bobcats.
Lake's Matt Mitchell and Razarius Anderson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mitchell has thrown for 350 yards this season, while Anderson has six catches for 126 yards. Antone Smith from Pisgah leads the league in rushing with 1004 yards.
A big matchup in 2A Region 5 this week will be when Leake County takes on the Hornets. The Gators are currently in third, while Lake is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Leake County takes on the Hornets. Gerry Anderson's team has allowed 176 points this season, while Lake has given up 94. The Gators allowed 14 points last week as they topped the Dragons.
There should be lots of points scored when Leake County and the Hornets face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Gators comes in having scored 162 this season, while Lake has scored 194. Leake County scored 22 points last week as it bested Pisgah.
