The Exeter Monarchs will venture away from home to challenge the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears at 8:00 a.m. on Monday. Exeter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Exeter came out on top against Granite Hills on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Monarchs in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.

Chloe Sparrow made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Exeter got a big performance out of Emily Mansker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Mansker has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Madi Concha, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Exeter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Sierra Pacific was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 11-6 to Sanger West.
Sierra Pacific saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anaya Zaragoza, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Zaragoza's first of the season. Kelsee Hanson was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Exeter's record is now 10-5. As for Sierra Pacific, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Sierra Pacific's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Exeter has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Sierra Pacific, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Exeter keep running through batters, or will the Golden Bears buck the trend?
Exeter came up short against Sierra Pacific in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 8-5. Can the Monarchs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
