The Shelton Bulldogs will square off against the Central Valley Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shelton comes in on three and Central Valley on nine.
On Saturday, Shelton made easy work of Tri County Northeast and carried off a 3-0 win.
Shelton was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-20.
Shelton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gracie Willis out in front who had 13 digs and two assists.
Shelton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Central Valley beat Lourdes Central Catholic 3-1 on Saturday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20.
Shelton better keep an eye on Annaka Wood. She was instrumental in Central Valley's win, getting 22 digs and three aces. Those 22 digs gave Wood a new career-high.
Shelton's win bumped their record up to 26-5. As for Central Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 27-5.
