High school softball: Ohio state champion Kenton Ridge leads list of nation's longest active win streaks

Heading into the 2027 season, Kenton Ridge (Springfield, Ohio), Shepherd (Mont.) and South Warren (Bowling Green, Ky.) own the three longest active winning streaks in high school softball. All three have a chance to break state records next season.

Kenton Ridge leads the nation with 64 straight wins after back-to-back 32-0 seasons. The Cougars begin the 2027 season just four wins short of tying the state record held by Clay (Oregon), which won 68 in a row from 1980-82.

Shepherd has won 50 in a row over the past two seasons and will attempt to break the state record of 56 in row by Butte Central Catholic (Butte) from 1999-2001. South Warren, meanwhile, went 45-0 in 2026 to break the state record for most wins in a season and best single-season record. The Spartans need just one win to tie the state record of 46 wins in a row set by Greenwood (Bowling Green) from 2013-14.

MaxPreps has compiled a list of every softball team in the nation with 14 or more consecutive wins heading into the 2026-27 year, including teams that participate in the spring and summer in addition to the traditional spring season. A total of 68 teams have a win streak of at least 14 games with 13 winning 30 or more.
