The Wesclin Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Carlyle at home and fell 58-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wesclin in their matchups with Carlyle: they've now lost six in a row.
Carlyle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Meyer led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Meyer's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Hoffmann, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Wesclin bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Carlyle, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesclin will face off against Greenville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Greenville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. Carlyle will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Red Bud at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th.
