The Tocoi Creek Toros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Matanzas 55-11 at home. Winning may never get old, but Tocoi Creek sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Tocoi Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Audrey Beyer, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Beyer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabi Iturralde, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five steals.
Tocoi Creek pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Matanzas, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tocoi Creek will take on Creekside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Matanzas, they will head out on the road to face off against Middleburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
