The Clinton County Bulldogs kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 60-47 to Marion County. Clinton County lost against Marion County in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-45 score last time.
Clinton County's loss came despite strong showings from Lexi Messer and Tatum Harlan. Messer scored 23 points, while Harlan scored 9 points along with 4 blocks and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Crista Thacker, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Clinton County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Marion County, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Clinton County will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Smith County at 6:00 p.m. As for Marion County, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
