The Orestimba Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Denair 82-35 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Orestimba who now have seven in a row.
Orestimba had a senior duo take command as Caleb Marin dominguez scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and Angel Reynoso scored 14 points. The matchup was Marin dominguez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Wales, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Denair's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landen Borges, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valente Rosales, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Denair struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Orestimba racked up 18 assists.
Orestimba pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.33 points. As for Denair, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orestimba will play host again and welcome Waterford, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waterford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1234th, while Orestimba is ranked 347th). As for Denair, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Le Grand at 7:00 p.m. Le Grand has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
