Casey-Westfield fell 55-45 to Teutopolis on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Casey-Westfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Teutopolis is ranked 92nd).
Despite the loss, Casey-Westfield still got an impressive performance from Ryan Richards, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Sullivan, who scored five points.
Casey-Westfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Teutopolis, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Casey-Westfield will challenge Lawrenceville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrenceville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 561 points over their last nine matchups. As for Teutopolis, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Danville at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
