The Pinewood Prep Panthers can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 70-41 victory over Laurence Manning Academy on the road. Winning may never get old, but Pinewood Prep sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading Pinewood Prep to victory were Jayden Alexander and Michael Jones. Alexander scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals, while Jones scored 20 points along with four steals and two blocks. Jones is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Za?Qari Heath, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Laurence Manning Academy still got an impressive performance from Josiah Burson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Burson hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Pinewood Prep's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Laurence Manning Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinewood Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they will challenge the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Camden Military will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Swampcats are ranked 117th).
