The Coral Reef Barracudas's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They strolled past Ransom Everglades with points to spare, taking the game 81-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Coral Reef found their leader in underclassman Corey Gellineau, who scored 11 points.
Ransom Everglades' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zeke Battier, who scored 22 points. Battier scored a full 33.8% of Ransom Everglades' points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Nabaka, who scored 14 points along with 7 assists.
Coral Reef's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 1-4. As for Ransom Everglades, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Reef will stay at home for another game and welcome Killian at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. Killian comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Ransom Everglades won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dade Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
