On Friday, the Owasso Rams faced the Edmond North Huskies in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Owasso fell 58-46 to Edmond North. Owasso's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Owasso saw an underclassman step up: Jalen Montonati scored 22 points. The game was Montonati's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Lechlider, who scored eight points.
Owasso's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Edmond North, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Owasso will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bartlesville at 8:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Edmond North's road trip will continue as they head out to face Moore at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Moore will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Edmond North is ranked first).
