Wharton came into Friday's game looking for another win against King, but Javon Russell wouldn't allow it. The Lions enjoyed a cozy 73-57 win over the Wildcats on Friday for which the team can thank Russell, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds. He also posted five blocks, which is notable because King is undefeated when he posts at least three blocks, but 1-3 otherwise.

The victory made it two in a row for King and bumps their season record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Wharton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, King will challenge Brandon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wharton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-52 loss against Carrollwood Day on the 6th.
