After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Doral Academy, the Palm Beach Lakes Rams were happy to have found some success on Monday. They blew past Jupiter 61-25 on the road. With that win, Palm Beach Lakes brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Beach Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Myla Jones, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zuri Miller-Whiteside, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Jupiter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Gumson, who scored 8 points. Gumson scored a full 32% of Jupiter's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Colleen Horne, who scored 8 points.
Palm Beach Lakes now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jupiter, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Lakes will take on Dillard at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jupiter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Treasure Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Treasure Coast presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jupiter in Florida (Treasure Coast is ranked 124th, while Jupiter is ranked 454th).
