Basketball Recap: Piedmont Wins Going Away Against Envision Academy

Piedmont won the last time they faced Envision Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Highlanders put the hurt on Envision Academy with a sharp 74-48 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.

Envision Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MALIK MCKenzie, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 21 boards. With that strong performance, MCKenzie is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Syrius Bell, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Piedmont's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Envision Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Piedmont will host Arroyo at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Highlanders will be up against the Dons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Envision Academy, they and Encinal will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. Envision Academy will need to watch out since the Jets have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
