The Van Wert Cougars suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a rough 48-27 loss at the hands of Lincolnview. Van Wert was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lincolnview apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Van Wert's loss came despite strong showings from jordanne blythe and Katie Deamicis. blythe scored ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks, while Deamicis scored eight points.
Lincolnview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keira Breese led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Hammons, who scored nine points.
Van Wert bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lincolnview, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Van Wert will head out on the road to face off against Bryan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Lincolnview, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kalida at 7:30 p.m.
