West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, N.C.) pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
Jaylen Sander, and subsequently went into halftime leading 30-28.
Concord (N.C.) took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by
B.J. Beecher to
Zoshua Heilig in the third quarter.
Sander played well for the Falcons. The freshman threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
West Rowan came in surrendering 11.6 points per game this season. WR struggled against the Spiders, which came in averaging 35.0 points per game.
Concord got revenge for last year's 20-14 loss to the Mt. Ulla school with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for West Rowan, which notched a 21-17 victory over Northeast Guilford in its previous outing. With the win CHS extended its winning streak to three games.
