Notre Dame (Niles, Ill.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 20 in Illinois, but was stunned by
Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, Ill.), 10-7. Nazareth Academy was ranked at No. 83 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Illinois coming into the week.
The score was knotted at zero heading into the half. The Roadrunners took the lead indefinitely on a rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
Nazareth Academy was ahead by as much as 10 before the Dons pulled closer.
Notre Dame's only touchdown came on a 1-yard run by
Ryan Greene in the fourth quarter.
NA entered the contest giving up 22.6 points per game this year.
The loss comes after Notre Dame defeated St. Viator 28-14 last week.
In a East Suburban Catholic game next week Nazareth Academy (4-2) takes on Benet Academy, and Notre Dame (5-1) will go up against Marist also in a East Suburban Catholic game.
