Football Recap: Graham-Kapowsin Falls Short of Lake Stevens in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Graham-Kapowsin can now relate to. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Stevens Vikings on Saturday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Graham-Kapowsin had strong showings from AJ Tuivaiave, who threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns, and Jayce Halasz, who picked up 167 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Halasz really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards. Graham-Kapowsin also got a significant boost from Blake Pearson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Even if they lost, Graham-Kapowsin's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 4.5 sacks. Lake Stevens' QB won't forget Jeremiah Leumuava anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Leumuava is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last five games he's played. Derick Manibusan was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making 15 total tackles.

Blake Moser produced another solid performance rushing for 130 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 19 passes for Lake Stevens. The Vikings' leading receiver Seth Price was Moser's top target yet again, picking up 146 receiving yards and two scores.

Graham-Kapowsin's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Lake Stevens, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Graham-Kapowsin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Stevens, they will challenge Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 984 yards in their previous games.
