Millbrook has been on the road for eight straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Rolesville Rams at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Millbrook posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 87-51 win over Heritage on the road. Given Millbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Heritage is ranked 100th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Colt Langdon, who scored 35 points. Langdon is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alex Olander, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Rolesville came up short against Wakefield on Friday and fell 77-64. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rolesville in their matchups with Wakefield: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Rolesville saw an underclassman step up: Jayvon Chestnut scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chestnut has scored all season. Life Lynch was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Millbrook pushed their record up to 8-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for Rolesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's contest: Millbrook have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.9 threes per game. It's a different story for Rolesville, though, as they've been averaging only 5.4 threes per game. Given Millbrook's sizeable advantage in that area, Rolesville will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Millbrook against Rolesville when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 87-50 win. With Millbrook ahead 45-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
