The Lake Howell Silver Hawks fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Winter Park Wildcats on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wildcats 58-54. Lake Howell's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Lake Howell lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mason Fritz, who scored 16 points along with five assists. That's the first time this season that Fritz scored 15 or more points. Janiel De los santos was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Lake Howell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Winter Park, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Boone the next time they take the court. Lake Howell will host Boone at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Winter Park will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
