The Franklin Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Venice Gondoliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Franklin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Westchester as they made off with a 35-15 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

It was another big night for Albert Cardenas, who threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (142.1). Franklin's leading receiver Jayden Steele was Cardenas' top target yet again, picking up 151 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, while Venice put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Bell. The Gondoliers blew past the Eagles 38-0. That looming 38-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Gondoliers yet this season.
The critical scores for Venice came from Aaron Minter, Alan Rosales, Joshua Aaron, and Jonathan Sharp.
Venice was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
Venice didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Alexander Camarillo led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Aaron also rushed for 122 rushing yards, which is notable because Venice is 5-2 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.
Venice is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Franklin beat Venice 28-17 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Gondoliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
