Basketball Recap: Emery Beats Delta for Their Fourth Straight Win

Emery had won three straight games and Sitterud Porter did his part to make it four on Wednesday. The Spartans came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-51 W against the Delta Rabbits with plenty of help from Porter, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 22 points and three steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least 20 points.

Another player making a difference was Ajay Thomas, who posted nine points along with five assists and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, don't look at Kobe Driggs. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. Driggs has also also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Brody Cleaver was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Emery's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Delta, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emery will welcome American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Delta, they will host South Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rabbits will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
