Homestead was the 2-1 winner over Brookfield Central when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Highlanders fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Highlanders' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

William Gefke paced Homestead's offense, picking up nine kills. Gefke got some help from Sean Contardi and his 26 assists. Contardi was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Leading Brookfield Central to victory were Chase Slager and Weston Hink. Slager had four digs and two aces, while Hink had 11 kills, seven digs, and two aces. Hink has been hot recently, having posted seven or more kills the last three times he's played.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Brookfield Central, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-11.

Homestead wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Appleton West on the 11th. As for Brookfield Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Franklin on the 11th.
