Softball Recap: Madison-Grant Wins Going Away Against Blackford

Madison-Grant got themselves on the board against Blackford on Tuesday, but Blackford never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Argylls have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Demie Havens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Johnna Hiatt was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Madison-Grant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory snapped Madison-Grant's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record. As for Blackford, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison-Grant will head out to challenge Lapel at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Argylls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Blackford, they will take on Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
