Even if things were shuffled around here and there, the power rankings for this week won't seem too unfamiliar if you've been following along. Don't let that fool you into thinking nothing interesting happened, though. A special shoutout goes to Damonte Ranch's senior Cade Mcnamara, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Truckee's 42 - 6 win over Lowry last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Marcus Bellon. Bellon tossed the ball for 309 yards and four TDs. That performance made Bellon one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
A
The battle between Faith Lutheran (ranked 6th in the power rankings) and Legacy (ranked 20th) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. Faith Lutheran took its game against Legacy by a confident 41 - 20 score. Hopefully the win is satisfying enough on its own since Faith Lutheran actually slipped one place in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Damonte Ranch last week (their 7th in a row). Everything went its way against Reed as it secured a 52 - 6 win. One major factor in the victory was the play of senior Cade Mcnamara, who threw for 289 yards and six touchdowns. With 11 consecutive wins, Damonte Ranch boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Desert Pines (5th in the power rankings) and Arbor View (3rd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Both the Desert Pines and Arbor View defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging 12 ppg and 9.93 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
