Elkhorn North has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Papillion-LaVista South has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Wolves will host the Titans at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Elkhorn North barely beat Gretna East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Griffins 3-0 on Tuesday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-21.
Elkhorn North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Wallraff led the charge by getting nine digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Millie Mauch, who had six digs and three aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Elkhorn North was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista South made easy work of Bellevue West on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-10, 25-12.
