Churchill has gone a perfect 10-0 against SA Roosevelt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chargers will welcome the Rough Riders at 5:30 p.m. The last three games Churchill has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Churchill took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Brandeis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers skirted past the Broncos 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since August 29th.
Churchill was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-19, 16-25, 25-16, 15-13.
Kenadie Pina and Sofia Sedano were among the main playmakers for Churchill as the former had 18 digs and two aces and the latter had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Sedano has posted since back in August.
They weren't the only good servers: Churchill was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, SA Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against LEE, falling 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-9.
Churchill's victory bumped their record up to 23-15. As for SA Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-27.
Churchill took their win against SA Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rough Riders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
