The Laneville Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Wells Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Laneville comes in on 13 and the Pirates on six.
Last Friday, Laneville didn't have too much trouble with the Mustangs at home as they won 63-47. Laneville pushed the score to 55-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.
Laneville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Ross led the charge by scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Matthew Johnson, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Martinsville scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Wells still came out on top. Wells walked away with a 64-57 win over the Pirates.
Laneville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season. As for Wells, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12.
Laneville beat the Pirates 62-51 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laneville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
