Riverdale Ridge is a perfect 3-0 against Brighton since August of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Ravens will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Riverdale Ridge will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Northglenn on Saturday. The Ravens blew past the Norsemen 14-4. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Norsemen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brooklyn Herschberger was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Riverdale Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 11-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Centaurus typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Brighton proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Warriors. Brighton's win was all the more impressive since the Warriors were averaging only 2.5 runs allowed on the season.
Like Riverdale Ridge, Brighton also got a great game from a two-way player: Laikyn Lanzen. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Lanzen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Brighton got a big performance out of Ella McHugh, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Valeria Rojo was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Riverdale Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Brighton, their win bumped their record up to an identical 13-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Riverdale Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .459. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
