Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Langston Hughes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brentis Schaeffer, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cameron Catholic, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
St. Francis' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greg Howard, who scored 17 points. Deniz Ozbek was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. Francis struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Langston Hughes pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Langston Hughes is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for St. Francis, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10.
