The Boonville Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Hallsville Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Boonville took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Thursday. They put the hurt on Smith-Cotton with a sharp 3-0 win.
Boonville's got stronger as the match went on, holding Smith-Cotton to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-14.

Addison Johnson and Mabry Caton were among the main playmakers for Boonville as the former had 13 digs and the latter had 21 assists and 13 digs. Caton is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 32 games she's played dating back to last season. Delaney Rowlett also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Hallsville earned a 3-1 victory over Father Tolton on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Hallsville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
Boonville better focus on containing Makenzie Lucas and Brityn Sievers as the pair were huge in Hallsville's win. Lucas had 23 digs and two assists, while Sievers had six digs and two aces. What's more, Sievers racked up 21 assists, the most she's had since back in September.
Boonville's record is now 19-7. As for Hallsville, their record now sits at 19-11-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Boonville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Hallsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
