Cochranton and the Panthers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Cochranton Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Saegertown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cochranton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Cochranton was handed a two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Orioles on Monday. Cochranton blew past the Orioles, posting a 57-26 win on the road. That looming 57-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cochranton yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cochranton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Macie Williams, who scored 15 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. Shelby Mcbryar was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Saegertown waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 60-13 win over Youngsville.
The victory got Cochranton back to even at 9-9. As for Saegertown, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Cochranton beat the Panthers 56-45 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cochranton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
