Seminary (Miss.) snapped
Forest (Miss.)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 34-14 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Austin Balthazor touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bulldogs led 22-0 at the half.
Seminary saw its 22-point halftime lead fall to 15 entering the fourth.
Keilan Ware played well for the Bearcats. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored two touchdowns on the season.
SHS's most effective player was Balthazor. He threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
The Bulldogs came in allowing an average of 22.5 points per game this season. The defense really stepped up, holding Forest well below its season average of 32.3 points scored per game.
SHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 21-20.
The defeat comes as a step back for Forest, which notched a 42-13 victory over Jefferson County in its previous outing. With the win the Bulldogs extended their winning streak to three games.
