Gulf Pointe Latin hasn't had much luck against Central Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf Pointe Latin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Litz, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Litz has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethany Crumpler, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 15 rebounds.
Gulf Pointe Latin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Central Christian entered their tilt with Full Life Christian Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They really took it to the Falcons for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-3 victory. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.
Central Christian found their leader in sophomore Abbi Bartlett, who shot 69% from the field en route to 20 points. Those 69% shooting accuracy set a new season-high mark for Bartlett. Another player making a difference was Hayes Turner, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points.
Gulf Pointe Latin now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Central Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
