Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Stern

Stern had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They snuck past the Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus Tigers with a 58-53 victory. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Leading Stern to victory were David Garcia and Jr Romero. Garcia almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, while Romero posted 17 points and three steals. The game was Garcia's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Reyes, who earned six points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Despite the loss, Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus had strong showings from Antonio C, who had 17 points, and Anthony M, who posted 16 points and three steals. Joshua G was another key player, putting up six points.

Stern's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

The future could be bright for both Stern and Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Stern will try to hand The School of Los Angeles their third-straight loss when the two meet at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus will try to hand Rise Kohyang their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
