Slippery Rock's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Saegertown hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Panthers never let Lakeview get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Everett Gardner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Levi Gardner and William Shaffer dominated on the mound. Gardner went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Shaffer tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Shaffer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Blake Leslie was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Quinton Burchill, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Saegertown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Slippery Rock put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They came out on top against Titusville by a score of 5-0.
The team relied heavily on Isaac McCandless, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Jacob Kunsman was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Saegertown's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Slippery Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Saegertown has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .542.
