The Fletcher Senators won the last time they faced the First Coast Buccaneers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Fletcher walked away with a 38-28 victory over First Coast. The victory was all the more spectacular given Fletcher's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while First Coast is ranked 147th).
Among those leading the charge was Anthony Vaglienti, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Ryder Kay was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Fletcher now has a winning record of 5-4. As for First Coast, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fletcher won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bishop Snyder at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. First Coast is on the road again on December 27th and play against Raines at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Raines is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
