Baseball Recap: Dougherty Has No Trouble Against Sherwood Christian Academy

Dougherty barely beat Sherwood Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dougherty Trojans blew past the Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles 13-2 on Monday. Considering the Trojans have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Rodney Pruitt was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Courtney Love was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Dougherty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sherwood Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .348.

Dougherty's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dougherty will challenge Westover at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty is facing Westover at the right time seeing as Westover is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Southland Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
