Robertson is 7-2 against the Pintos since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Robertson Cardinals will look to defend their home court against the Moriarty Pintos at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Robertson has 15 straight wins, the Pintos have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Robertson didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Horsemen, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Robertson has scored all year.
Robertson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Gonzales out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Gonzales hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Mateo Contreras was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Moriarty was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 59-53 to the Tigers.
Robertson pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Moriarty, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Robertson beat the Pintos 62-55 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Moriarty's Jeremy Padilla, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Robertson to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
