Horton Made His Presence Known in Weed's 48-14 Win
Starting off the list is Weed's Marcus Horton, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Horton rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Mt. Shasta's probably not too fond of Horton given he always seems to get the better of them. When Horton last faced the Bears back in September, he rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry.

Nate Downey was instrumental in extending Etna's winning streak to five on Friday. Downey's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending a pass.
On the year, Downey has averaged 6.6 total tackles per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he was only averaging nine rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 109.8 rushing yards.

A Season-Best Performance from Wyatt Shaw Leads Redding Christian over Trinity
Redding Christian was led to victory by Wyatt Shaw, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Shaw wasn't messing around, throwing for 271 yards and four touchdowns while completing 94.4% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The match was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns.
On the season, Shaw has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 224 passing yards per game.
