Tolono Unity had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces, posting a 42-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won eight contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Tolono Unity had a senior duo take command as Tre Hoggard gained 92 total yards and two touchdowns and Dane Eisenmenger threw for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Tolono Unity's defense made their presence known, laying out River Deisher three times. In that department, Chason Daly was the leader with two sacks. Tyler Henry got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mt. Carmel's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Elliott Acree and Jackson Kling. Acree rushed for 87 yards and one TD, while Kling rushed for 55 yards and one score.

The victory (which was Tolono Unity's seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Tolono Unity will face off against Monticello at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Eisenmenger and Nolan Buehnerkemper. Mt. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
