Breyona Demora spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Laila McCulloch was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peighton Giambra, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Paul Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
As for Seymour, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
On Seymour's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Leah Parkosewich gave up three earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Seymour saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julianna Raucci, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
