The Pinole Valley Spartans had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Petaluma on Thursday.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chriseanie Nealy, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Romyn Waugh, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
Pinole Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Petaluma, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Pinole Valley will take on Analy at TBD on Friday. As for Petaluma, they will take on Marin Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marin Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 893rd, while Petaluma is ranked 72nd).
