After losing to the Hesperia Scorpions the last time they met, the Canyon Comanches decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Canyon walked away with a 56-47 win over Hesperia on Saturday. Given Canyon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Hesperia is ranked 172nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Josh Goodall, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds. Noah Kim was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Hesperia, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.
Canyon will head out on the road to take on Villa Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hesperia, Hesperia and Burroughs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Burroughs will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
