Sidney took a 41-point defeat the last time they faced off against Lockwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-18 win over the LIONS on Friday.
Gradin Sukut continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 85 yards and a pair of scores. Evan Erickson got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Billings Central Catholic's win came from a few key players Sidney will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Howie Martin, who rushed for 146 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, and also threw for 143 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes. Those 146 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Evan Harrell was another key player, picking up 143 receiving yards and three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Billings Central Catholic was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Billings Central Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Kael Aldrich led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Sidney was dealt a bruising 55-0 loss at the hands of Billings Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Martin, who threw for 186 yards and four TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.
