After flying high against Chaminade-Madonna two weeks ago, St. Frances Academy came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 21-14 to the St. John Bosco Braves on Friday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Braves from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.
Despite the loss, St. Frances Academy had strong showings from Jae'Oyn Williams, who rushed for 121 yards and one TD, and Jaylen Burke, who rushed for 71 yards and one score.
A big part of St. John Bosco's victory came down to the chemistry between Koa Malau'ulu and his top target Madden Williams. Malau'ulu threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns while Williams picked up 178 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Williams has posted since back in September of 2024.
St. Frances Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. John Bosco, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Coming up, St. Frances Academy will face off against St. Joseph's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for St. John Bosco, they will welcome Junipero Serra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
