The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the West Laurens Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. West Laurens took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Academy for Classical Education, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Academy for Classical Education kept a clean sheet against Coffee. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
Academy for Classical Education was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Bayleigh Loosier and
Liliana Giles, who scored all three of Academy for Classical Education's goals. Those were goals were season-firsts for both players.
Meanwhile, West Laurens couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Effingham last Friday.
The victory got Academy for Classical Education back to even at 1-1-1. As for West Laurens, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Academy for Classical Education took their win against West Laurens in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Academy for Classical Education since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
